Individual audio front door speaker wiring

I'm installing the front door speakers from the individual audio system and I'm not sure what connects to what!

Both the mid range speaker and the crossover box have a 3 pin and a 2 pin socket.

Clearly the two 3 pin sockets are connected and I have the harness for this.

The question is does the input wire connect to the crossover box or to the 2 pin connector on the mid range speaker?

I've hunted for any pics that would make this obvious but can't find any.

Also the mids and tweeters I have are the correct part numbers but the mid is 4 ohm and the tweeter 8 ohm. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Are you going from logic 7 to BMW IA?

You might/ probably have to clip the tab on the connector from the door that goes to the midrange speaker, in order for it to fit.

input cable from door goes to midrange
then special 3-wire cable goes from midrange to crossover
and then crossover connected to tweeter using 2-wire cable

Thank you guys!

I'm going from the base hifi here in the UK which has no amplifier at all.

This is on an E82.

I'm using one of Technic's harnesses to add an Alpine PDP E-800 DSP amp.

I've also noticed that the tweeter is 8 ohm while the mid range driver is 4 ohm. Does anyone know if that's right?

The part numbers seem correct so it must be I guess... part numbers are:

Mid range 7838905
Tweeter 7839500

The tweeter has a connector which would require a small tab to be removed to fit the socket but it's listed as being for e90 / e91 so maybe there is some kind of intermediate wire harness that uses that plug.

Thanks again!

The resting impedance of the speakers does not matter as once you add the crossover the amplifier will “see” a filtered frequency (about 3 ohms iirc)
