Did you guys get a chance to hear the exhaust note of a 135/335i before you got this? If so were you feeling a bit down because of the quietness on the 128/328/330i? This was the biggest setback, since I test drove the 135i before the 328i when I bought my car.
I had a 335xi loaner for a week and I loved it's exhaust note. But compared to the performance exhaust on my 328xi, the 335 sound/note is different but mine is a louder and better specially on acceleration (imo). Once in a while I actually think the performance exhaust is a little too loud (not from the inside, but from the outside).

And yes, I was quite dissapointed with the stock 328 exhaust sound. Nothing compared to the 335's or the performance exhaust.

Will it sounds not as good if I just get the performance exhaust?

How about the BMW resonator Y pipe delete with the IKon? I'm considering
going this way if I can purchase the BMW Y-pipes since I have already installed
the Ikon.

Just exhaust sounds fantastic. It is my current setup. I will be going performance intake soon.

Speaking of performance parts. I would be all about the front performance brakes too if they were black and not yellow.

Go for it. The yellow color is actually very cool (IMO).

So the intake can be a self-install, right? What about the exhaust? Do I need to bring it to like a Meineke?

Yes and yes. A DIY is available for the intake install.

I wish I could here it in person...
I'm afraid that it'll be too loud once I installed it
(Parents don't like noisy car)...
As long as its minimal from the inside then it should be COOL

Damn, that exhaust sounds great for OEM, just hella expensive. There's no way I'm dropping $1200 on a cat-back or especially $800 on a freakin intake.
Sorry about the bump from the dead..

Amazing 328 sound, esp on the Jan 11 vid.

Yeah, 2k is a fairly hefty wad of cash, but look what we spend on options for our cars. Premium is 3500... Nav is 2100...

To get that sound and a bit of a performance boost... I say its worth it. Wish I just had 2 large burning a hole in my pocket.

Happy Performance Intake and Exhaust owner

I just installed my Performance intake and exhaust over the weekend . Cabin sound is absolutely perfect now, no drone at all. When accelerating, you can def hear the engine "breathing in and out" - like it always should have been. Cruising on the cruise control at HWY speeds is not annoying, slightly more engine sound (absolutely no drone) but I enjoy listening to the inline-6, def after this mod! Acceleration is much smoother, no hessitation anymore after you punch the gas pedal. Off the car goes! Not necessarily more "powerfull", but a lot smoother and instant power delivery. The intake looks great, nice fit and finish. The outside sound of the exhaust fits with the agile sporty looks of the car. Nothing like a cheapo oversized civic tailpipe, but a repectable sweet sporty sound and nice look. Very happy with the mod. Thanks Tischer (Jason) for the fast S&H after placing the order.

I agree.. I just came from the VW world where a cat-back is $600 and an intake is $150 (aftermarket).
You can't beat OEM fit and finish, and I will probably go this route because it doesn't void the warranty, which is awesome. VW doesn't have true OEM performance parts like this.
Gotta pay to play.
