Renntech Tune for E92
I currently have Dinan Stage 2, and PE. I am going to install the Dinan FMIC in the next couple weeks.
The thing is I don't want to go Piggyback, strictly flash tune for me. The Dinan runs perfectly and has not given me any issues, but I am yearning for more power! I've seen the great results BuraQ has had with his Renntech tuned 335is, but his tune was a prototype and his car is also an IS. Can I expect similar results on the commonly sold tune? I have not heard of anyone else talking about this tune. I would appreciate some feedback from anyone who has this tune on a 335i e9x. |

No. Renntech tune sucks. Not only that, but 7 speed DCT wannabe manuals suck too. Ha ha. Just kidding. Sorry. Couldn't resist. I just wanted to see BuraQ's head explode.
Seriously, BuraQ has had excellent results with the Renntech tune and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be compatible with other N54 e9X cars. Have you checked w/ Renntech directly? If you are looking at strictly flash tunes, you should also consider Cobb as you can flash from home, have a TON of maps for different set ups, can custom tune, flash back to stock on your own for service/warranty work, etc. |

For flash tunes, I would definitely choose Cobb. As far as flash tunes go, they seem to yield the most power. They are also VERY active on the forums, unlike other flash tuners. With them being active in the community, along with many Cobb users on the forum, troubleshooting and getting assistance with your Cobb tune would be simple if you were to ever have an issue or question.
Go Cobb...

@OP there are only a couple of us that hang around the fourms. There is a 1M and 335d owners with RENNtech that also frequent these forums. About a month ago I was at the RENNtech shop with a local who got a free dyno. RENNtech put the same tune on his 07 E92 335i that rendered a 378 whp (unadaptive) vs his tune that rendered 388 whp w/meth (adaptive) and he was MT There are alot more of us out there than it seems, its just most dont frequent forums Last edited by BQTuning; 09-15-2012 at 12:50 PM.. |

Underground Euros is a reseller for RENNtech so they can get the tune cheaper from what is listed, RENNtech will still be doing the flash via DME shipped from PR.

Do you know if renntech is coming out with higher grade tune that requires FMIC? |

The RENNtech tune on my car you need an upgraded FMIC. I would not even consider it if your not going to upgrade your FMIC especially living in PR |

Renntech seems very similar to GIAC. A very solid, powerful tune however it lacks used adjustability. If you're not interested In tweaking that's not necessarily a terrible thing.

just keep in my mind that with renntech you will be stuck with it. no options to change maps, resell it etc.

I haven't taken it to the track either, But for a somewhat comparison BuraQ and I have run it in Mexico once or twice (for fun...what a long drive ), and I have to play catchup.....we make the same numbers.....and he isn't running meth! |

I guess I am going to have to ship my DME if I want to get this tune (which really sucks) I am not only worried about the original shipping but it would be a bitch to have to send it to get reflashed in the case of the dealer doing work on my Car that requires software updates. |
