I have lost $15,000 by buying in Canada this past summer. :sad0147: I do recommend to people to look at buying in the US. Look for low mileage used cars with a good history. You can save a huge amount.
p.s. I reserve the right to hate you however |

i hear you buddy... i nearly took the plunge too, and the only reason why i didn't buy early this summer was b/c they refused to/couldn't order the m sport package for me... which in retrospect probably saved me the 15K that you mentioned....

Why would you want to move? For once the dollar has some buying power in the US.

actually the CAD went down against the USD and traded today around 1.068 or so.
Some think the CAD is going up...some think it's going down. |

As oil goes so too will the loonie.
If we see $100/bbl we'll see well over 1.1 exchange. Oil traded $2 USD higher today. Don't buy any greenbacks yet.... |

That being said...there are many catalysts that can drive the CAD back down under par pretty quickly. We can have government action, there can be a global central bank bolstering of the USD, US treasury could threaten to take action to bolster, a Canadian bank like TD could report some huge subprime write-downs, we could have negative jobs numbers next month, etc etc etc Good luck guessing....no one has been righ so far. |
