Indeed it could, we are glad we are fine. Thanks.

I did my tires back in Sept of 2011, so nothing recently.

No, I don't have spacers on. Trust me, I would love to know why this happened more than anyone else, I just don't know

yup...like previously stated...either haters or somebody just trying to steal my wheels.

i went to my girls complex (just moved there recently) left the car outside all day, went to leave, pulled out and it happened. called her to tell her what happen, and when she went outside where my car parked she saw 4 of the 5 lugnuts sitting on the floor. sucky situation.

i think someone was trying to steal your rims. maybe? Some thieves will loosen all your bolts one night to make the job easier the next night... were all your other bolts on your other wheels tight as well?

sheez O_O

ive actually done something really dumb and probably would've gotten me to this same situation...i forgot to torque down the driver rear wheel and i could feel it shake when i am not on the throttle so i quickly pulled over and torqued them (i carry my torque wrench in my car).

just glad you are fine as well as your wife and mother in law! Could have been way worse...

OK guys, I went to see the car again and tried to figure out what happened. I saw that one of the lug nuts is missing and the rest are half broken and still stuck in the hub.

lug nuts are still stuck on the hub, but the wheel is on the outside of those nuts... so they slipped somehow through the wheel? but they're still screwed onto the hub... so the studs themselves failed?

Did you say you had spacers on? If so I'm guessing extended lugs too... what brand were your lugs?

Not suggesting a need for mass hysteria and a recall... Im just curious.

It could be from over tightening, but as I said, the last time I did my tires was back in Sep 2011 so I am not really sure. I don't have spacers, I had the factory lug nuts.

My wife tells me that I always don't react at the moment. I mean even when I got the car back in 2008, I wasn't that happy the day I got but in a week I reacted lol.
Not that I remember of.
