Keep it as long as it drives, and when it fails or I have enough to purchase something new it will become a project car.

I bought my 330i about 5 months ago with 95k on it, got a pretty good deal on it. I took it to an indy shop here in minneapolis (ORR Autosports) to have them check it out for any problems... came back with NONE! well only the rear brakes were due, but i can do that... so i hoping to drive this BMW to the end. its been great so far.
Oh yea, im driving it to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in a couple of months. I did that with my E46 also...

Bought my 335xi in April of 2007 with 28 miles on the clock...i'm now at roughly 72,900 miles.

3 years 5 months = 2.46 miles per hour - 59 miles per day - 1,778 miles per month - 21,336 per year.

Yep - sounds about right to me. Time flies... can't believe I've had it that long. Still looks brand new, nothing wrong with it either. Runs great. I plan to drive it into the ground. Most likely start upgrading it sometime here.

I put over 100K miles on my e36 m3 - loved it so much that despite being a track car I drove it daily to and from the university.

nice bmw0perat0r

I'm going to keep if I get rich (so I can go crazy modding with it) or sell it if maintenance costs get close to 1k a year for me.

I tend to baby mine, but I love the car and plan to keep it for a long time! Only reason I don't daily drive it is because where I park people don't give a damn about other cars, my beater picks up door dings every other day.

I see a lot of thread that everyone only care for their car up to 100k, not a lot of people want to use their car to the fullest. Can our car live that long, with out a rebuild?
Have every intention of driving my 335i until it is gone...so I expect a good 10-12 years out of it...I will repair it as needed, understanding that it will be expensive

I don't switch cars up every couple of years. Damn thing was 60 K, gotta get your money's worth.

^^^ thats how its done!

This is why I like a driver's car...no matter how old it looks after a while, its still a nice driving bmw...you feel connected; even years down the road.

In the 3+ years I've had the car I've received 3 door dings. All of which were minor and taken out by the dealers paintless dent repair. Car looks new again. Needless to say, I'm very careful where I park.

Well I'm now at 122,000 (Thursday last week). I've recently been toying with getting a Fusion Hybrid so I can use the HOV lane on I66 Northern Virginia and getting a bump of at least 10 MPG (would save me $100 month in gas), but I think I'm going to stick with the E90 and run it to my planned 250K mark (about 3 years from now). Putting 800 miles a week on a new Fusion just doesn't sit well with me.

But I still got an itch for a new car (even though I bought my Wife a Hummer H3T last October - love that truck). With all the talk about the '11 Mustang GT, maybe I'll get one as my non-daily driver...

My 3er fills a primary purpose. As long as it fills that purpose without being a hassle, I have no reason not to keep it. (Except if that new 6 is as nice as it's looking in the pics I've seen and is practical enough for daily use. That car looks sweet!)

My last 3er -- 1993 318i -- gave me 158K miles, I sold it to a relative and it's still on the road at well over 250K miles.

In North America we seem to have a throw away culture for the most part. In Europe people keep their cars for years. I have family in Germany and they would not think of getting rid of a car let alone a BMW before 250,000kms.

Mine is paid for....so I plan to enjoy it for 10+ years. At the end of the day a well kept BMW 10 years from now is still a BMW and you do not have to explain to anyone why you made the choice. Same goes for a Mercedes....not like it's a Hyundai or a Chrysler!

My point being, when you see a premium vehicle that is well kept that maybe a decade old it is a classic and still possesses all the qualities it had when you bought it. Power, prestige, handling, precision etc etc. What is on the clock matters not.

my 2 cents...at 9445kms so far

My sisters Daughters BMW has 200K and running well. I have noticed that most folks on this site seems to believe or act as if the cars gonna implode @ 100K. Change your oil and don't beat the hell out of it and it'll get you to 200K just like any other car. I just gave away a Saturn with 256K on it and it ran great,.........I just needed to add a quart every 500 miles.

I kept my old bimmer 9 years and was about to hit 100k. Would have kept it but it seemed like every month something else broke..
