Scan result

Hello
Would like a bit of help if possible, I've got a very rough idle on cold start I purchased a foxwell nt510 carried out a scan and got 4A69present dde glow plug cylinder 1 activation.
Is this just pointing to one glow plug not working, as I would have though one plug wouldn't cause such a lumpy start up.
It last about 10 seconds and is then perfect for the rest of the day and will only be slightly lumpy if the car isn't started for several hours.
It's also been better the last few days as the weather has warmed up a bit.
Thanks

I keep getting Cylinder 1 control code 004A64, i have no problems starting. Have tuning box fitted but still get the code when unplugged.
Was thinking either glow plug 1 or glow plug controller needs replacing. Car is driving fine at the moment but would like to get sorted out.

I had the same problem on my car, also N57 330d. On cold start, the car would run lumpy for about 10 seconds and then fine. Only happened on cold start.

I was getting cylinder 1 and 2 glow plug fault. I changed the controller and it fixed everything, no more codes and no more rough running.

Thanks for the reply mate, I rang the local dealer today £546 to change the 6 glow plugs and control unit
I can get all the parts including original control unit for around £150-£160 I'm just a bit reluctant after googling and hearing all the horror stories about snapped plugs.
Even though it's only a very short time it's lumpy it's there and it annoys me.

Will ring few local indys tomorrow but I think if I get it done I will end having a go myself.

Bmw wanted £116 to supply the controller, got the same one off ebay from a seller in Latvia for £63 + £6.99 postage. My mate is gonna fit it in a couple of weeks. Could probably do it myself but can't be arsed.

No mate it stopped as the weather warmed up so didn't bother but as the mornings have chilled a bit I have noticed it ever so slightly again.
Might just live with it to Be honest.

Yep. Took my mate about 20mins. No need to remove the intake or anything like that, was just pretty fiddly.
Once fitted all related fault codes cleared and have not returned, and no more rough idle.
