BMS intake vs Stock

I'm thinking about buying a BMS intake, but does it really perform better than the stock intake?

No performance gain... Even worse at high temp and high use. Better would be a closed intake (OEM is good enough for starters)

Intake sound is something some people love, some people hate...

But you can all read that when you use

At higher boost levels it offers 5-10hp gains, sounds much better, and looks much better. Does not make less power in heat as said below. That is a misconception.

It only amplifies the built in BOV in the N55. Great intake nonetheless.

I am very happy with mine. Quality product as always from BMS that loos great in the engine bay and sounds a lot better than stock to me.

Didn't really notice performance gains but I am addicted to wasting money on my car so it was to be expected that I immediately buy it when it came out.

Happy I bought it tho.....

It obviously outflows stock, theres no possible power loss, only power to be made.
Nice sound too

I was going to say something but i'm not...

Believe what you think...

Alpina used a closed (!) intake with better air flow for there B3 and B3S...

Let's not compare Alpina vs 335... I have the bms intake and it works and sound great.

OK bone stock I made 284 whp
tuned with no mods 332 whp
Added dci and catless dp 360 whp I doubt it very much those pipes 32 whp
added intercooler 361 whp stronger on the top end

Also my car drivetrain loss is 11.25%

So i do think the dci's do add something to tuned cars all the bolt on's were from cpe I also have the bms intakes and did a comparison no difference in hp but the pre filters on the CPE dci's is easier to clean I'm lazy

PS everything was done on a dyno dynamics dyno

For the people saying the intake increases intake temps, you are wrong. The intercooler heatsoaks, notr the intake. The air has to go through hot turbines.

So more stress on them because of the higher temp an open intake inducts...

And when you start off with higher temp intake air, you will have higher temp overall witsch result in... Yes you get it...

Why are you all defending it It will give a nicer (for some) sound but it doesn't work performance wise...

The idea that the BMS intake pulls higher temps is plain wrong, check out this intake test

You want to convince me with a test from the guy producing and selling them...

You guys really have to try harder to convince me... For years now i'm reading test (even TÜV) and reading feedback saying the opposite what you are saying...
