Try ....tons of threads already.
I have it on my '08 and love having it for more than just the navi. The '09 is improved....you know what just search, and in the end only you can make the call. |

I'm sure it's "possible" but it would probably be cheaper to just get it from the factory.

No, I'm talking about going to best buy and getting a descent garmin gps. I got one with lifetime free traffic for $186 and had it hard wired (an extra $50) into the car. I've mounted it on the windshield using the garmin windshield mount and if I ever go somewhere I don't like I can pull the gps and the mount down with no issues...
The bmw portable navigation thing is also a garmin and when they install it they drill holes in the wood trim too. |

I could be wrong, but I think the OP was simply trying to ask how many of us ordered Idrive/Nav with our vehicles and what we all think of it.

If you don't get navigation/iDrive with your car, you will regret it. Its not something that is changeable later unless you are VERY determined. Same with comfort access. Its one of those options you can't retrofit easily or at all. Get Sport package too. Three must haves. I hate my non-sport seats. TOTALLY takes away from the bmw experience for me. I'm looking to buy some sport seats black leather btw.

I don't regret not getting iDrive, but I think it is b/c I went used an bought an 06 model. I've heard the 09/10 iDrive is a lot better. I have the premium and cold weather packages and while I wish I could have found one with the sport package I'm very happy with the car.. |
