I have and install them on my car, but you'll need to score the wire harness to make the sill illuminate. GL finding them via BMW.

dumb question, but aren't they just low watt lights that should need nothing more than two basic wires that can be run to the fuse box or tapped into the foot well lights ?

i would assume they need to be tied into the dome circuit specifically so they cycle properly.

There's a specific wiring harness and inverter to make these illuminated door sills work. This particular harness does tie into the footwell lamp and flashlight socket.

I think it's a bit more complicated than a simple wiring job. But, I'm sure if one knows something about how to make a proper wiring harness and understands ohms, resistance and diodes it can be done easily.

If any of you interested in this item (which is very nice and provides a high cool factor) I would recommend obtaining all necessary parts via BMW parts. Give 'em a call.

B-737, FYI the bottom listing is the only one that fits the E92. The other three are for the Z4 and 1 series models.
