So don't they have anti-radar detectors built in nowadays?? I thought the Escort radars have that feature.

Anyone in ON have a radar confiscated or get a ticket because of having one on?

Kinda contemplating getting one too...

The Bel STi is the only radar on the market right now that is not detectible. Some Escorts may have been invisible to the earlier Spectre detector guns, but not the newest models.

But again, all this techno crap may be useless with instant-on radar, overhead planes and pacing (where the cop follows you for a while to determine speed).

Hundreds of people have been nabbed with detectors, so play at your own risk.

A lot of Cops in Canada now are using laser. Nothing beats laser for speed. No way your radar detector will have to time to go in sleep (undetectable) mode before they know you have one. The only thing that might save your a$$ is if you are around other motorists. They might not be sure which car has the illegal device.

i don't get it though.. u still gotta hang the sucker from your window. cops aren't stupid. unless u like pulling it up and down... u're probably gonna get busted sooner or later.

i'd rather just use my head. after driving a while here in toronto knowing most of the radar trap areas is almost second nature now to me.

yes i did, V1 is detectable, i got busted with it few years back

Except for some laser jammers! Laser Pro Park I've been reading is supposedly quite good at jamming, and does not throw error codes on the laser guns so they don't know you have one. Its main use (wink wink), or I suppose to disguise its alternate use (as laser jammers themselves are now illegal), is in fact a parking assist type of gadget. It just happens to beep when a cop hits you with laser too!

There's tons of guys on the net as a hobby testing jammers with police laser guns, you can find videos of it on youtube. check out guysoflidar website (i'm not affiliated with them, just been reading up on it).
