Need some advice...
Ok so the dealer where I live has an 09 335i sedan, crimson red on saddle brown with sport/prem/cold/CA/PDC/Navi/Sat/HD pretty much everything, the sticker on it was just over 53k and they said they would do $51,500 + tax and everything. Also they said they'd give me $31,500 for my 07 E92 335i w/ sport/prem w/ 18k miles. Deal or no deal? Also, the E90 looks like it has been there a while as it has 100 miles on it and has the ash try instead of just the little space. And on a side note they have my exact car CPO'd with 43k miles on it for 35k.

Seems a little high
First calculate the invoice price. Then go from there. I ordered a 2010 335d at $1250 over invoice, nearly fully loaded. Could I have done better? Perhaps I might have saved another $750 by driving around all over the place, but I bought on the last day of the ecocredit, and the dealer had a qualifying production spot, so I have no remorse. But the spread between sticker and invoice rises as you pile on the options, so I feel like MSRP-$1500 might be more like $2K over invoice.
Your current car sounds desirable. Mine is similarly optioned, and the lease-end buyout is in the $27K range. Yours has far fewer miles. In sum, it sounds to me like you might get more selling your current car at CarMax (very easy) and negotiating harder for invoice+$500-$1000 on the E90. |
