DMTL Error on MHD

Hi Guys

I have switched across to MHD from COBB and running an e85 blend map.

It was fine for a couple of days then got an check engine light with the following error codes

DMTL 2A13 (accompanied with a 2A18 shadow code). I have read some threads that its a software glitch, but am unable to find explanation for how to resolve it. I have cleared it once and it came back. Then I cleared again and it hasn't come back yet.

I thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced a similar issue and what they did to resolve it.

I read if its not the software issue it is the pump that pressurises the fuel tank to check for any leakes e.g. if fuel cap is left open it could eventually cause this error code to come up. However sometimes the wiring going to the pump could come out and worse case scenrio the pump itself has failed.

However first i thought id start from software before looking into replacing the pump.

Any help much appreciated

Did you flash a complete BIN from elsewhere? Must have been US BIN, because EU spec cars don't have said DMTL pump because its for US emissions.

ahhh that explains it...so are you saying our Euro spec cars don't have a DMTL pump? And hence don't require that test to be run by map?

I suppose the map that was used was a US based map, so I may need to get Wedge to disable that emission check.

Have I understood this correctly?

Cheers

The DMTL is part of the undefined section of the Bin, but yes its some data in the US BIN that says you have a part that you don't. If you're using MHD OTS or Custom Bin from Wedge (.MHD file) then you should be fine.

If you're using a complete Bin from elsewhere, then that isn't the right way. There are ways to copy across data to your own BIN, which is way too hard to describe while I'm on my phone, perhaps Google it if you want to do that.

yeh I have been running buraq's 98 tune for a few months and I think he does a great job with the custom maps! Now i'm switching to e85 on stock turbos before installing bigger hybrid turbos (hexon rr600) in the new year
