We have heard anywhere from 4--/6-- and even up to the 8--.
Find the best one at the lowest is probably the best idea.

If you're ever down in Atlanta, I know someone who will do it for half that.

Any chance you would attempt to do it on your own? I've always done suspension work on my own cars, and there is something very gratifying knowing you've done your own work.

Hmm, I haven't really thought about it but i do love doing my own work. I would thnk suspension stuff would be very difficult without any "tools"

wtf... a spring/shock install should range from $150-250 depending on which shop it is. $300 and higher is just a total rip off for a suspension swap. damn... talk about the BMW tax hahahaha fucking ridiculous

I'm just going to go with the job for $425 I know it will be a quality install so I should be happy. I never found one lower than that though haha.

Maybe. However, High prices does not equal a more professional job. In that case, the Dealer is the best and final place to take your car.

It's not an easy job. An experienced person can do it in 4 hours, inexperienced probably 6. With that said I paid about $450 with an alignment to have my 135i done and it wasn't any less professional than if the BMW dealer did it for $900. The hard part is finding someone that can pull the front suspension without scratching the hell out of your front fender.

4 hours at the shop rate in your area. Alignment is extra.

Sure, you can probably get it done cheaper, but is it the same high quality work? Is the cheaper shop going to be around to provide you with after service support. You will want to find a shop you trust and have develop a good relationship with for your future installs and possible repair work.
