Removing drive shaft!
Trying to remove drive shaft to get to my transmission fill plug on an 330 xi. H is is driving me nuts!
I can't use a socket on the e torx bolts cause the drive shaft rolls and j can't figure out how to hold it while trying to get the bolts off Any ideas?

Have some one hold the brakes.
Or get a pipe wrench to hold the drive shaft as you loosen the bolts

If it's a manual trans car, put it in gear. If it's an auto, make sure it's in Park. The shaft won't move.
More worryingly is why you need to remove the driveshaft to get to the fill plug. My 6MT fill plug is on the side of the trans and the drain plug is on the bottom. Are you sure there isn't an easier way? |

Thanks everyone I got it.
But now after filling the fill hole with fluid and starting car to go through the gears it doesn't go into any gears, there is no play in the shifter. Any idea what I did wrong?
