Maybe we should start an MSV80 thread...
I've got an '09 328i w/ 3IM and stock ECU if you're still looking for test subjects

That's just about perfect. Do you know how to use WinKFP?

I could provide my BMW 125i (N52B30) Coupe EU Spec for some testing here in Germany, too

So far I've only built tunes for US-spec cars, but if an Eu-spec 130i exists, it should be trivial for me to make a file that works for you.

Can you find out which ZB# you are on? Seems like the EU 125i used a few different ones, and it seems like there are analogous files for the 130i - I just don't know which one I'd have to prep for you.

I'm not sure if you guys are looking for another test subject, but I have a completely stock (and healthy) 330i that I would be willing to throw in the mix, for whatever purposes might be needed.

I also have a laptop with DIS/INPA/NCS-expert/Progman/WinKFP...although I'm still learning how to use them. I'm very willing to learn, but I'll need guidance in executing the programming.

If you have an actual 330i that means you have an MSV70, right? In that case there really isn't much more testing needed. Hass and I just need to find the time to make some tools (which is difficult with his work responsibilities and my school responsibilities)

New member checking in. Lots of past tuning experience.

2008 328i is my car
3 stage manifold sitting in my garage to go on this weekend.
INPA cable in the mail.

How can I help contribute? I pretty much wrote the bible on 2015+ Subaru WRX tuning over on nabisco.

What does ZB# stand for?

And yes. There is a 130i Hatchback in the EU. I could try to get a bin read of an stock 130i ECU with some help of the 1erforum.de members.

Btw. I have experience in Software development ( i am an IT Guy) and my friend is a C++ Guru. Maybe that could get useful?

I don't need a bin read - I've already determined what corresponds to the 130i software. I just need to see what version your 125i so I know which 130i flash is appropriate (looks like the difference comes down to whether or not the car is equipped with option code 1CB - "CO2 Package"). Open tool32 and do the "aif_lesen" job and post the output here.

Hass and I still need to discuss what direction we want to go in as far as tuning tools and whatnot, but I'll definitely reach out to you if we need coding assistance.

Yes, you are right, it is a 330i. I guess I am a little late to the game, but I wanted to offer up anything I could do to help. This is one of the most impressive threads I've read in a long time.

How are you with embedded ASM code. lol. I don't know anything about C++ believe it or not. Its not even close to what I do for a day job...

Anyway, I think, on that end its covered. I just mapped out pretty much everything required to tune MSV80. Converting that to different software versions is relatively simple. The tools we are building are for making mundane tasks like making checksum correction simple.. In due time.

EU 325i is 2.5 liter though isn't it? Not a whole lot that can be done there.

The E85 has two different tunes for the 2.5 liter. Essentially a single stage low output and a three stage manifold high output.

Will give you the "aif_lesen" value when my D-Can cable will arrive hopefully next week.

The adapter works but you still have to connect the jumper to enable the port.

Yes correct! All aussie 325i are 2.5L with three stage

I've through this thread and just have to say that my hat's off to you guys. Once you've got a tune ready ish enough for beta testing, I'll can be a test mule to help out. I've got winkfp up and running, but haven't bought a 3 stage intake yet. Unfortunately, I won't be much use for dyno, as I live at 5600'.
