There is nothing wrong with running 100% meth if done and tuned correctly. I run 100% meth on my Cobra with 27psi of boost. I have built many other cars that run 100% meth, that make in the 800-1000rwhp range, zero failures, zero exploding intakes.

As far as what happened in this situation, it is FOR SURE not an issue with the BOV staying closed causing the intake to crack. One it would take a hell of alot more then 20 psi to crack this intake, plus even when the throttle is closed that pressure will still come out of the motor, the valves are still open and the turbo will surge a little that is all. I bet if you plugged off the intake, pumped 100psi of compressed air in there, it will hold it. The intake is not a weak link, its not a manufacturing flaw at all. You guys that are thinking that was the case are absolutely out of your minds.
Also if this was an Aluminum intake, it would have exploded/cracked as well. Ive seen backfires take out aluminum and plastic intakes in the past.

There was some sort of backfire that caused the intake to break. What type of meth kit is on this vehicle? Is there a one way check valve on the lines? Ive seen issues where meth will still dribble out of the nozzles even when its not in use, or just after being used with cheap meth kits. This can cause the meth to puddle in the intake manifold and it will ignite. I bet thats what happened in this very case. Hopefully only the intake manifold was damaged and not anything else got into the engine.

Yes we agree that it was a backfire.. i have a Snow Performance Stage 2 kit. and have a SP Check Valve in place.

This and the clogging thread I saw on here recently not exactly confidence inspiring. I have everything else on now including Dinan's Gucci intake, but two too many incidents for me. Car is pretty fast for moi. I think I will stop here and enjoy what I have.
