Recommended mechanics in GTA?

I have a 2010 e92 and live in sauga.

I know people talk about rmp motors, columbus automotive, ktm motorworks etc...

But can anyone recommend any other mechanic(s) that do good work on bmw as well and have prices that can beat the shops mentioned above?

If you can mention who/where and what service you had done and your experience with service quality, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

OP,

Good work and low prices isn't something that you see grouped together. What exactly are you looking at in terms of service?

I guess you're right. Need to replace rotors/pads once I've purchased them. On the other note, any recommendations where to purchase rotors/pads online?

So far I've been looking at germanparts.ca, tdotperformance, rockauto, canadabrakes and autopartsway.ca lol

I used to use Bimmersport for everything. Most BMW independent shops are comparatively priced. I would go OEM, but that is me. If you can turn a wrench, do the job yourself! It is not difficult. Hope this helps!

KTM Motorworks won't go anywhere else and I've been to the others you mentioned. Talk to Kosta he knows these cars inside out and is personable. Bimmersport don't even think about it. I won't get into specifics.

You cheap out and you'll be paying to fix someone else's nonsense again anyways.

Just had rear brakes and rotors done at rmp yesterday and they were almost $200 cheaper than everywhere else that I had quotes from and I was in and out of there in under 45 min...definitely recommend them

Edit...oops didn't look at date of post....either way my recommendation still stands lol

No worries. If you dont mind me asking you, how much did you pay and what pads/rotors did you get? Feel free to send me a DM too.

Thanks!

Do your self, pads and rotors should take you about 30 +/- minutes for fronts, or 30 +/- minutes for rears.

Check out BMWizard in GTA for sure. The lowest prices you'll find compared to everyone else for quality work.

Top Series in Markham

I have known the owner for over 10 years now. Has worked on all my vehicles; honest, knowledgeable and great prices.

KTM Motorworks hands down. Talk to Kostas and he'll recommend Zimmerman and Akibono pads setup.

Which shop would you guys recommend for a clutch job -n54 335i?

Been to RMP, stance factory, and paradigm performance for different types of jobs but I want to pick the best shop for the clutch install and avoid having to go back to shops if there are any issues with the job. I live in Markham area but don't mind traveling a bit if it saves me the hassle of having to go back.

Stance did my 335iS clutch install on my previous 335i. Also did my clutch and lightweight flywheel on my E46. I'd absolutely have it done there again if I need it.

If you don't mind, what kinda services did you have done at each shop you mentioned? And were you satisfied with the job they've done?

Personally, I've only been to RMP.

Thanks!

RMP- had springs installed when I first got my car..work was good

Stance - coilovers installed ...but had to go back to get it done properly..but he fixed it right away.

Paradigm performance- walnut blasting and oil housing seal done. Good work and nice guy.

Pan pan auto - alignment... he was the only guy who got my alignment done right the first time. I went to the shop in the west end found on the forum and my steering wheel wasn't centred and the shop said it was normal but I didn't buy that.

I typically go to recommended shops for certain jobs based on what I find on this forum.

I would trust RMP.

You need some tools to do basic work like that (brake pads and rotors) and I would recommend doing that stuff on your own. If you buy these tools than it will help you with a lot of the easier diy maintenance and installs. Its a good investment and this knowledge is transferable from car to car in most instances.

That being said, I am a KTM guy! I was recommended to check out BMW wizard recently as he is suppose to be really good and has a good shop rate but theres really no need. (Im sure hes really good as well) but I don't plan on bringing my car anywhere else. So far all of my visits have been really good and Kosta and his squad are knowledgable and friendly as well. They are a really easy group to get along with. Until I have a changing experience there Im not planning on seeing/talking to anyone else regarding my n54.

KTM Motorworks!

Has anyone ever ordered from rockauto.com? Looking to buy pads/rotors from there, but not sure how reliable this website it. Anyone have any experience with this company? or have any other recommendations as to where to purchase pads/rotors?

Thanks
