MIR Track Rental Fri 2/18/11
Calendar: USA - Mid-Atlantic
Blackbenzz
Second Lieutenant

The tracks start to open back up the end of Feb and early March around here and people have been asking me to do another track rental before the weather starts to warm up. We are targeting Friday Feb. 18th Same hours 9am-5pm and we will split lanes again so if you have drag radials or slicks bring them! 1 lane drag radial/slick and 1 lane street tires. If you have drag radials or slicks you can run either lane. This is done to preserve the track prep in one lane since street tires tear up all the VHT. Price will be $100/car as usual and same hours 9am-5pm. Gates open at 8:30AM. Lets hope for some good weather!

I should have said new (to me) car. I would love a C63 but I picked up an E55. Not sure if you guys heard but Mike ran his C63 on thursday NA and ran 10.8 @ 131!!! I wanted to keep the clk and not spend too much money

I was at Boris house for a while yesterday working on my friends CL600 (what a PITA!) and E55. The E55 has a bunch of mods already Shooting for 10s on the first day out but that mostly depends on the tune.

Is this date solid given that the weather is good?

Also, any idea if the fueing station will be open? I'm hoping so and that they'll have some MS109. They only have MS103 advertised

Trevor,

Are you opposed to Sunoco race fuel? I get mine from Myersville Sunoco which isn't that far from you. 5 gallon cans run about $48. I have two cans of 104 in my garage right now and always dump one in for the long drive down to make sure that I'm fully adapted. Pumping it in at the track will not ensure this unless you go out and drive around for a good while. Been there, done that in my 335.

Nope not opposed at all. You bring up a good point with the adapting. There's a place that can get Sunoco in Gaithersburg off 355 but he has to order it. Where do you get yours from? I'll go get some this week just to make sure I have it.

Thanks Adam!

Yo Ak you wanna leave earlier? I think it opens at 9 if I'm not mistaken.

Need my new tires to come in before running the car with the new tune!

Yes. As long as weather is good there will be a track day.

They open it periodically and take cash only and exact change only. Not sure exactly which fuels they have on pump since I don't think I've ever used it. I can find out if you want.

If you want Sunoco 100 unleaded theres a place in Damascus called Fast Fuels and they have it at the pump! Sometimes they have 5 gallon pails of 104 inside. It was $6/gallon for 100 unleaded or 110 leaded at the pump last time I went.
