Well....I might be able to come, but I would have to be in one of the first couple of slots....I'm supposed to be leaving for Ocean Shores on Friday night. Not a huge deal....I can always jump in next time, but just thought I'd check to see if anyone else had some time constraints.

is there a chance we could start sooner? i am planning on leaving for portland later afternoon but may have some time early lunch to squeeze in a dyno if theres still room. i am in the same boat as norm so if its possible, i could get in on the first few pulls. anyhow, let me know.

Why didn't you respond to my PM?

Anyway, I just talked to them...and they said 12 is the earliest they can go, BUT if you come at 12 we can let you go first and then you can be on your way.

OR

you can call them yourself (Alex @ Carb Conn 425-820-1871) and see if you can work out something for an earlier time and just say you are part of the group so they can give you the discount.

Ok.....I'm definately in. I'm catching some hell from my wife, and I have to get out of there as early as possible....but I'm in. I already have several runs with them anyways....so it works out great for me.

One piece of advise for step owners....make sure they let you do your own runs.....which they normally do anyways...but unless they've improved drastically since my last visit, you're much better off doing it yourself. I'll explain more if needed, but just a heads up. Hell maybe I'll be the only step guy there, so it might not even matter!

Mine's step too. I have the "kick down" delete so I don't have to worry about that crap.

Well I don't have a clue who johnny is, but the kick down was never the problem. The problem was they wanted to start the run at 4000 rpms. I kept saying it needs to start at 2000 rpms since peak torque is reached between 2800 and 3000 rpms. My numbers were all screwed up...untill I got into the car and did it myself.

In Jeff's (carb con) defense my car was only the 2nd 335 to run on their new dynojet, and the 1st step. I'm sure they probably are very good at it by now.

I just had my car dyno'd there last weekend and they definatly wanted me to start very low in the RPM range (2k)

I don't know if he's ready to dyno yet (break-in) but he'll be there.

When you drive it like you stole it from day 1 you tend to get the most out of your engine. I'd say avoid redline for 200 miles or so, but after that let it rip. If he has more than 500 miles on the car, the engine is already broken in 99% so he might as well give it a shot!

+1 you have to go with a aggressive break it for a sports car (doesn't mean beat the shit out of it, theres a proper and an improper aggressive break in) If you break it in right, you have a beast, if you don't.. well you get the idea..

I'm hopping to do a couple of runs against him, if he's willing. So, bring your cameras just in case.

So I guess it's cool to roll in 15 or 20 minutes before noon? Just to pay, maybe let my car cool down a bit? I will be making the drive from Bonney Lake to Kirkland in 7.3 minutes! . I'm expecting to be running hot!

Figures too how the forcast went from sunny and nice to pissing rain within the last 2 days.
