E90 LCI H&R sport drop, need alignment?
Hey guys, this will be my first drop on a BMW. Has anyone here have needed an alignment after dropping their E90 LCI with H&R sport springs?
I would appreciate the feedback. Thanks |

Changing springs is basically by definition going to change your camber. This may however be a good thing. I wouldn't expect it to change caster or toe.

You really never know. We always recommend getting an alignment after any suspension modification. $80 is cheaper than having your $200/ea rear tires wear prematurely.

$80 is what the BMW dealer charges? I heard some local shops don’t have the specific tools to do the correct alignment for the BMW.

I highly doubt its $80 at the dealer and Jon didn't suggest that. Besides that, most BMW dealers won't align a car with aftermarket suspension. Search in the local section or ask around, I'm sure there is a good alignment shop in your area.

Search! an alignment is necessary. I dropped my E90 pre LCI on H&R sport and got an alignment.
It seems you think there's a difference regarding this matter whether it's LCI or not?!?!

I had my alignment done at a race shop in Orlando, I think it was ~ $130 if I remember correctly.

Anyone with one of the newer Hunter machines (which use the lasers on the top, I'm sure you've seen them) will be able to do it properly. $80 is what my local shop charges and that's in Silicon valley, so it should be cheaper elsewhere.

Should get an alignment after doing a drop.
BMW dealer will ask for $400 - I remember them asking me that much for an alignment. I went to a local shop that does the alignment for most dealerships(they outsource to them I found out) ended up paying $90 for it. |
