Anyone use the ER Chargepipe with OEM DV's?

Just curious if anyone here used the OEM DV's with the ER ChargePipe? Or do I have to use Forge DV's? I am not sure how the oem DV's slide lock interface on the ER ChargePipe.

Thanks!

Yes, people are using it with stock DV's. Just buy the Forge ones when your stock ones give out.

If you were upgrading the charge pipe, you might as well get the forge diverter valves while you're at it, Joe.

Sometimes it's about the $$ lol. I know when I was looking CP + forged DV's ran well over $500....kinda pricy if your stock shit is working.

True but why skimp? I know many people have been running stock dv's with higher boost and no problems. It's just my opinion though.

Some use the stock DV's still. Only way to tell if you need upgrades is from a pressurized boost leak test or in your logs you will find inflated waste gate duty cycles or worst case 30FF codes for not meeting target boost. Although the latter can be attributed to many other things not just leaky DV.

Thanks Jeff, my other question is, will I need extra hardware to connect my Stock DV's to the CP, as my CP will not have the little grey locking pieces on the OEM CP.

I hope nothing extra is needed. I just ordered the ER CP from top gear today as well. I plan on running the stock DV's until they go then upgrade to the turbosmart dual port valves.

I just received my CP today, it appears there are hoses to attach the Stock DV's, so I think we should be good. I will install this weekend.

+1

Most of my customer actually stick with the stock DVs, but some do upgrade. The ER CP comes with the hardware needed (small hose) to mount the stock DVs to the new pipe.

One thing I do encourage is that all the 07-08 users upgrade to the 09+ charge pipe (longer version) so you can get rid of the crappy rubber elbow.

Any suggestions on parts out there that could replace the elbow while using the ER short pipe?

There are a couple companies that sell "meth elbows" like stett. You could get away with that. It's basically just 2 silicon couplers and a piece of sheet metal and 2 bungs.

If you get ER's FMIC I think you can get a metal up pipe that connects to the short piping.

Yes with the ER FMIC it comes with longer piping if you have the short charge pipe.
