though. Probably takes away from the feel of actually driving the car though Yea the DIY makes it seem easy, but I cant really turn down that price of install having it done at the dealer ha would be like probably hald the cost of the steering wheel itself. Maybe we could find out what it making all that squeaking too whenever I turn the steering wheel, but as far as I have heard its the steering rack. I just dont want to have my whole steering column taken apart so I will deal with the sound. Dont need very many tools for the install.... One long thin Flat Head Screwdrivers Torx Driver Set (there are quite a few different size torx screws) << have 10mm Nut Driver <<< Have Ratchet Wrench <<<< Have 6" Wrench Extension << Probably have 16mm Socket << Have Torque Wrench (recommended) <<<< Have a good one Ha but you probably do to so it would be overkill for me to bring anything unless you need me 2? Ill bring my air compressor and impact wrench too haha jk

If you're really considering getting an intake vs getting a V1...
get the V1- no question. I cannot tell you how many times the V1 has saved me from getting tickets on the interstate and even in town. I have mine hardwired so it stays out of the way, yet in clear view when I need it. Its probably the best purchase I've made for my e90 yet.

haha ill bring all my tools...i have a buttload...the squeeking is more than likely your clock spring(the thing that in the pictures in the DIY is behind your steering wheel-black thing with the 2 plugs)...though it could be your rack i guess..they are a PITA to swap lol but the clockspring is easy...ill listen for it when we do the wheel

Do you think I should do the buy online way? OR Should I call in and get a 30 day returned one with all the accessories? For the same price

I just bought it online. There are no accessories I needed so I just decided to make sure I got a brand new one. Its your call though. I assume you're going to hardwire it in? If you need help, let me know. Its not a difficult DIY at all.

i am guessing you will be quoted 4-5hrs
if youre asking how hard it would be i would guess you want to find a shop that will do it. its not something that i would want to do it myself. i had the help of a friend(mechanic) and a shop after hours |

I've got a V1 that I have been meaning to hardwire, but haven't gotten around to it. My GPS is taking up the power outlet in the ashtray. Where do you have it mounted? Did you use the sunroof console or run it down to the glovebox? I want to do it, but have never had experience with hardwiring in a car.

dude, you and I will get along. I spend about $200 a weekend on boos. and that's nothing my buddy spends way over 1000 every week. It gets to the point where he pours shots for everyone around. I'm starting to think we're alcoholics

Hey wow.
Parachute, big list. Aftermarket heated seats? That's nuts! Driver only? Seems like a low price for that option. How's the MOST adapter working for your iPod? Sticking to playlists? Umcool, I was in St. Croix for 2 weeks last month. Were you in St. Thomas? Beverage bill?! $200/weekend? $1000/week? Yeah, I think someone may have a drinking prob. |
