Retrofitting e92 heated electric leather seats

Hi all,

Ive got a 2007 330d M Sport Coupe and Ive found a red leather interior I want to fit.

My current seats are fully electric memory seats (non-heating option) and the new seats are fully electric memory seats (with heating option) but are from a 2008 model.

Will these be a simple case of replacing the interior with the new one?

Ive heard stories of replacing interiors and the electric seats only working for 10 seconds and then not working, as the car needs to be re-programmed to the new seats.

Any ideas?

Thanks

If you want heated seats to work, you may require to add few wires (depending on whats missing on your car) and coding as well.
Coding only will not help you.
Or you put them in and leave the heating alone.

So I should be able to straight swap them with no problems, but without the heating option??

If thats the case then I dont mind that, its just the seller is adamant it will only fit 2008 and onwards.

Also, any advice on fitting? To avoid airbag lights coming on....etc

Thanks

Afaik,
Lci seats are straight swap or pre-lci cars but not vice versa.
On LCI seats there active restraint system and there is additional white plug on those seats. Since pre-LCI car does not have that system so that white connector becomes redundant.
Re: fitting, disconnecting the battery is must before disconnecting the connection of the seats.
With memory seats, your remove the bolts with the battery wires on (as you will require power to move the chairs back and forth) and then you disconnect the battery before you disconnect the connectors.
HTH.
