Raceland Coilovers Review e90 335i PHOTO UPDATE

So I bit the bullet and went with raceland coilovers. They do not sell ones for the e90 / e92 on the US website so I had to purchase from the UK. I found a seller who had them on an ebay posting and asked to have them shipped.

I spent about $300.00 on the coilovers and about $120 on shipping so for under $500 I had a set of coils.

Sorry I did not include a bunch of pictures, ill update later.. But they can nicely packaged in a raceland box.

Install was easy, ive done lowering springs before, so this was the same as that. A little work to get to the rear strut top bolts but in under 4hrs I was done.

First drive: They are about 20-25% firmer than sport suspension but they eliminate 90% of the body roll from stock suspension. There is a little noise from the front struts when first driving but it goes away after about a mile.

Adjustment of the front is a breeze, 15min per corner and I had the height I wanted perfect, the rears where a little more difficult to adjust, I found it just easier to unbolt the lower control arm and basically pull the spring out to get the height I wanted.

My total consensus is this: if you want a decent set of coils for daily driving these are a good choice. These coils go super low, if you want to slam the car you could basically lay it down on the ground. I’m sure KW will ride better (ive never experienced them) but for being on a budget you can’t beat them.

Damn...that's amazing you got coils new that cheap.

The noises from the front would concern me. I can't stand ANY noises when dealing with suspension.

To me there has to be a reason they're so cheap.

But with that said....we need pics!!! How low did you go??!!

I'm tempted to get these as well since they are so cheap. I'm waiting to hear how they hold up.

Update!

Sorry guys ive been busy at work. Ill post pics this week.

So its been some time now and the noise from the front shocks only happens with the first quarter mile of driving, and its not that bad all you hear is the struts.

The ride has now softened a little which i like. Body roll is much much less than stock.

I would highly recommend these to any one who wants a nice stance and still wants a BMW feel daily driver.

I took a three hour trip to NJ with four people in the car and some luggage, car was great. The ass end sat a little low but thats expected. I raised the car up slightly higher than the H&R sports sat, just to accommodate the extra people.

Great to know that theyre holding up fine for the price. I recently ordered these too and can't wait for them to come in the mail!

you know I was thinking about these... I don't mind going out on a ledge and try something cheap....if they break...I knew I got what I paid for. But if they hold up...its like finding a gem in the rough...considering I no longer DD my e92...this might be something I might be interested in. Are they dampening adjustable? The noise in the front have you addressed this with Raceland??

I installed these coilovers yesterday and I can confirm that these do go lowww. Body roll is reduced, however, the car is noticeably bouncier.
What can you expect for the price though lol. I'm still extremely happy with my purchase

No it is not that annoying and I was expecting some more bounciness when installing them. I've heard that they will become less bouncy over time but I'll keep you guys posted.

Are these stainless steal? Are you concerned that they may rust during the winter months?
