So is the final consensus that the only parts needed to do the Euro Intake swap is the box itself, lid, hardware (#6,7,8,9), & filter (#2)?

You would simply re-use (swap over) your original MAF (#3,4,5), Airbox to Intake Plumbing (#10,11,12), & Upper Intake Snorkel (#13)?

ECS Tuning doesn't show actual pic of what is included, but states 'box only' and @ that price it definitely can't include the MAF...

BMW would only sell it to me as a "kit". Look at item 1 it includes everything you need and I couldn't order just a lid and box only item 1.

Anyone have any idea if the 328i airbox will fit my 325i. Any difference? Also understand there is no 325i in 2008 in the US. Will 2009 or 2010 airbox in the 325i in US any different?

1QuikWS6,

You are correct. If you are changing a EU stock intake to a US BMW Performance Intake, you just need a US stock rear housing to compliment the set that comes with the BMW Performance Intake parts. EU version airbox is one big piece but the US version has got a separate rear and front housing that snap together to make one airbox.

Why would you? Any gains would be immeasurable and you won't get any increase in sound.

I had it on dyno with the performance intake but not to compare wit the stock intake. I needed a baseline before I do the headers and the software. From the figures there is no power gain.

So wait- the euro airbox (as soon to be sold by ECS) has the same end result as the OEM Performance intake?

I am think of getting the (ECS) Eurobox instead of doing a carbon delete, if there is any real improvement other than sound.

From the DIY, carbon delete seems like a shit load can go wrong.

OK, finally got the Euro Airbox Conversion finished on my 09' 328ix E92

Choice to do this was really a 'no brainer' as I simply swapped my entire factory airbox with entire Euro Airbox from another member (he needed the back half of my airbox to mate up with the GM Performance Airbox he had just purchased) so we each only paid shipping.

I don't really expect any realizable 'seat of the pants' performance gains, but I'm sure the car will breathe better now that the restrictive charcoal filter is gone (without having to do any surgery/cutting) and I am using the K&N E2022 round replacement filter in place of the factory paper version.

I did notice an increase in sound - in a good way!

Best advantage is that now to access filter, all I have to do is remove lid instead of disconnecting the entire airbox and then disassembling it to get to the filter.

Euro Airbox was a direct bolt-in on my 328 with absolutely no problems.

Here's some pics:

Out with the OLD -

In with the NEW -

Here are some pics of the Euro Airbox open with stock paper filter -

And a pic of the New K&N Filter -

Finally, a pic of the upcoming purchase of a CF Lid that I found for the Euro Airbox to match the other CF intake parts I have -

nice but is that carbon fiber cured properly? Because if not then it does pretty much nothing for heat. But it looks great
