Question attaching euro license plate holder using US front bumper drills?

Here's my problem:
- did ED, so had to have my front bumper drilled to attach the euro front license plate
- what they do is drill the bumper to attach a US license plate holder, then they drill the euro plate on top of that
- now what i have is: a) 2 holes in the front bumper who can accomodate a US license plate holder, b) a cool euro license plate I'd like to keep in the front but w/o the ugly US license plate holder

question: is there a way to mount a Euro license plate holder using the US drilled holes? if yes, any good pointer to where i can find that? i'd like to attach the euro plate using a euro license plate holder 'cos the holes which have been drilled into the euro plate definitely don't match the holes in the bumper done for the US plate holder... and i don't want to drill 2 extra holes either in the euro plate or in the bumper..... following me?!

i'm sure ED'rs would know what i'm trying to do... i'll post pics if that makes no sense

i'm not sure that would mount fine directly on the bumper: http://www.superiorcarcare.net/gerplatfram.html ?

Dont listen to him!! lol. go to www.bimmian.com and get it custom made. then request the BMW Original Manufacture Holder. It comes with "BMW Autohaus Munchen ///M-Power" . Check my garage for what mine looks like.the holders it comes with will accomidate the US plate holes. GL!

VW = poor mans german car. LOL

Just to make things clear: I already have euro plates from my ED, just looking for the plate holder

kiemyster: sounds like your plate holder (http://www.e90post.com/forums/e90gar.../KIEM_frnt.jpg) is what i'm looking for ('accomodate US holes!'). i checked bimmian, and they do not seem to sell the plate holder only. they have a black one that comes for free with a personalized plate.. i just don't need plates... well, i'll see if they can sell it w/o. GL to me.

juuni,

i am prety sure the temp plate you got via ED is a little shorter then the standard europlates. i brought the plate into a store to see if it would fit, the holder was to long. i spent over a month looking for a holder. i ended up using the US holder they had on when i picked the car up in germany.

thx james! i read this to my big surprise, and immediatly checked this out measuring my plates: they are 461mm x 111mm, whereas the plate holder (here for instance: http://www.europeanplates.com/europe...frames2006.htm - thx shragon!) are 520mm x 111mm! so you're damn right that the plate holder would be too long.

well, good to know before i bought any of these that my plan just falls appart as my ED euro plates aren't actually 'standard' euro size...

allright, gotta figure out something else then. i think i might just go with bumper plugs as i definitely do not want to keep the front US plate holder in place.
