I lend her the car and she crashes it!

Hi,

So I lend the other half the car, and she ends up driving up a curb at 30mph square on. Overall the car seems fine, the only problem is that now one headlight (passenger side) is now pointing almost directly out rather than dipped. Also the headlight angle wheel still works but there isn't as much movement in the passenger side as the driver side.

The headlight assembly itself looks to be slightly more forward than the otherside. Basically what I'm after is any guidance on how I may go about fixing this or whether I should just take it straight to BMW.

It's an 06 3 series e90.

Sigh here's where you have to remind yourself what love is all about.

When we first got married, my wife took my Nissan which was rollin' on 235/40-18's at the time (I've since gone back to 16's), BRAND NEW, and hit a pothole on the expressway. This bent the rim beyond repair, and shredded the tire, which had maybe 800 miles on it. I was angry.

Anyway, we're still married and that was 4 years ago.

Are you going an adaptive headlight failure?

What you can do is adjust it by opening your hood and there is an adjust by your headlights you can do with a screwdriver I believe. Park in semi dark to see the angle of both of them against a garage to match the beams. I think you can move them from your idrive system but im not sure I don't have idrive and did this manually. Mine had to be adjusted because I lowered my car and was pointing slightly down than i liked.

The sphere lense is out of the position. The headlight needs to be taken out, open the headlight, the socket holds the lense got popped out and it needs to put it back to the original position. There should be a thread disscussed how to do this + pictures

Driving up a curb at 30mph? I would get your front wheel alignment check.

This should be posted in a marriage / divorce thread ....

Seriously you probably have an insurance claim for many issues not yet revealed (cracked rims, tire bubbles, suspension parts, .....)

If the car has hit a curb that hard then you really need to get it fully checked out.

Are you sure it wasn't a lot less mph? 30mph head on impact to a curb would do a lot more damage then you think.
