16" Snow Tires on a '06 330xi?

It snow season so I'm looking to buy some snow tires for my '06 330xi, it has 18" wheel package if that makes a difference. I would like to put some 16" wheels on it but from what I've heard it's not possible because of the brake size. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

I would think you'd have brake clearance issues.

even for 17" rims, make sure offset is correct before purchasing, I bought a used set of sport edition rims/blizzak w-50's off this website and didn't think I would have any issues with brake clearance. Previous owner drives a 328, and they fit his car and also fit on an E46 M3. It sucks having to resell a winter setup that you didn't even get to use. The guys at tirerack.com will answer any questions about a certain rim fitting on your 330xi.

You can always buy spacers so the 17's can fit the 330.
