thoughts on a c4 corvette

my father passed away 6 years ago and me and brother have fond memories of riding in his vette. Needless to say now that we can afford to own and maintain one we want to get one in his memory. What are your oppinions on a 92-96 vette. What should we accpect to pay for a black on black vert 6 speed with low miles and in good running condition. Where would you suggest looking criagslist?

thanks for your help

I'd say head over to something like corvetteforums.com and spend some time there. Corvettes have a deep and complex history and and a similarly dedicated and loyal group of enthusiasts. I think you would be best to do some searching/researching over there or on similar forums to get the best info.

Incidentally, I'd say that would be a great way to remember him. I have similar memories of road trips in my Dad's 87 Vette. Red on Red and a whole lot of fun!

A C4 is relatively inexpensive. One of the guys in the gang I belong too picked up a convertible a few years ago and it was surprisingly inexpensive. They are decent cars and can cruise at exceptionally low rpm when equipped with a six speed manual giving them great hiway mileage.

I'd echo the good advice 'former' gives also.

actually now that i started thinking i can remmeber a performance shop that he mentioned and used to go to. Its still around and now they not only specialize in all corvette maintanence but restoration and sales. I gave them a call and they said i would accpect to pay about 15,000 from them for a good running order late model c4. So now we are just going to sit back and wait for the right one to pop up.
