Exclamation Tap Tap Tap Tap Urgent Help

Hi Everybody

I had my car serviced on Saturday 04/06/11, oil filters, air, pollen, fuel etc etc and the oil used was Mobil1 0-40 Turbo Diesel oil (LL01)

Now really wierd but sometimes is idles like a dream and other times is idles like an old bus and now I can hear a light tapping when the car is at idle.

Also when driving along at about 30 40 50 mph with with revs around 1600 and 2000 rpm there are very slight shunts, almost like the engine has lost its fuel supply for a second.

My car has done 134000 Miles and I am second owner, I have met the original owner and he was an old gent that last got it serviced at 116000miles (18500 - Intervals), I admit I crept over by 2K.

I have driven the car for about 250 miles (see the joys of having a driving job) and as I say its hit or miss with the car.

Oh and also when accelerating or vice versa there is a whine and after getting home i reved the engine a little bit and the whine was still there, it has onyl crept up over the past 3 weeks but I am sure its getting louder.

Please Please Please help

Thats what I thought but driving around it spools up fine, its powering the old girl well. Driving home earlier i couldnt hear the whine. It sounds almost as if its the gearbox but even when its not engaged the whine is there when revving
