HPFP symptoms?

Thought I would ask in the Canadian forum as some of you are experiencing the cold we are getting in Calgary.

Both yesterday and this morning, upon cold start, my after 3-5 minutes end up with half/engine reduced power malfunction light.

It idles really rough when cold. After I turn it off and restart, the car is fine.

I am going to bring it in, but I am wondering what others might have experienced.

bring it in. if not hfpf it's something else that needs fixing.

Sounds like the hpfp to me, but this car seems to have a few crank/idle issues which relate to the fuel system, so it could be a number of things. For the hpfp the test is pretty black and white so I'd bring it in and have it checked regardless. Better now than getting stuck somewhere.

Worst. Service. Ever.

But yeah, definitely bring her in and get her checked out. I think the best thing they can do for you in regards to providing you a car is to just cover the rental car fees. Unless you wanna try really hard at complaining for X amount of hours lol.

Well the car felt like it was going to shake itself apart this morning! I am now guessing it is injectors rather than the hpfp.

Anybody successfully get BMW to cover a rental while they were in for warranty work?

I now have a check engine light that is on all the time. Haven't checked it yet, but my guess is a misfire in one of the cylinders with a bad injector. I don't know if I can wait two weeks to bring it in. I am going to stop by the dealership tommorow.
