Freshly Painted Liftgate - Can I Wash/Wax Rest of Car?

Hi!

I just got my car back from the BMW collision center. They had to replace the rear liftgate, rear bumper, and some of the rear panel. It was a nasty hit.

Anyway, they did kind of a crap job washing the car before handing it back. The service advisor said I can hand wash only. No automatic car washes - which I don't do, anyway. Would I be able to hand wash the whole car and then only wax the not new stuff? I feel like this would be okay.

It's dirty and after not having it for a month and a half, it'd be nice if it were clean.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!
Pete

You can certainly wax areas that were not recently painted, however freshly painted areas should be allowed to cure for 30-90 days before applying any wax, sealant, or nano coating.
