Hey everyone, was just wondering what is your take on the lifespan of our vehicles. Will it be good as the other older models? Looking at used 3ers from 15 years ago and most of them have almost 200K miles or more. That is pretty damn good. This is my first German car, so I really dont know. I know that most Japanese cars will last until 160k or so miles.

Heh, a well maintained Japanese car will sneeze at 160k miles. My Honda Accord is still running strong as a family hand-me-down at 250k miles. I just sold my wife's Camry when we got her a new Mini. It was at 180k miles and still running strong.

Well it was just from my experience with Japanese cars, they just start slowly breaking down around 160K or so.

I think it's the normal wear and tear stuff that starts to break down on Japanese cars, which everyone should be cool with at 160k That american garbage starts to break at about 100k if your lucky.

How about bimmers? nobody really has answered the OP question??

I don't see why not? Technology only advances over time, and certain longevity is enginnered in, for a large part on the basis on the experience and feedback from the past generations of the cars made. However, something is telling me that you will hop off your current ride long before it gets 200k mi on the clock.
