3-series Performance Rims 313 on Z4 (E89)
Hi,
I need some advise from you wheel and rim experts. This coming summer I will replace my 335i with a Z4 35i. I spent quite some money on the 3 series performance wheel 313, which is also available for the Z4, but has a different part number. Now BMW told me I would not be able to use the 3 series 313 wheels on the Z4 because they wouldn't fit. I've heard this argument a thousand times before in regards to other wheels and people were still able to do it, my using some technical magic (of which I am unaware - I am a technical idiot, at least when it comes to cars). Does anyone know if it is somehow possible to take my beloved wheels with me and mount them on the Z4 E89? Thanks! |

Here's an e89 Z4 with the 230 which has the same offset and width as the 313, so the 313 should fit too.

Thanks for the link.
Did he have to make any modifications or will they just "fit"? Couldn't tell that from that thread. I am also wondering why the 313 for the 3 series has a different part number than the 313 for the Z4 (which can also be ordered from BMW). Thanks! |

Quote:
The offset for the 313 for the Z4 is ET29 front and ET40 rear. And the 313 offset for e9x is ET37 front and ET39 rear.

Now I don't know what to believe anymore. Everybody is telling a different story. Someone told me I can just put them on the Z without any modifications at all.

Yes, that's right, the slight difference in offset is very small, so they'll still fit.

No it just means they'll will either stick out or in more in the wheel well. In your case I think they will stick out further. You will probably not even notice it. Especially in the rear.
