It shows up in a lot of pictures for random reasons but is uniform in real life.

It's just the way the rings are designed. There has to be an area where the wiring can connect

Half of the people say it's a full ring and half say its where they connect so there has to be a gap...

Garage List
Go with Luce/180 Orb rings. They are full rings and appear brighter and more uniform than the OSS. But again, I may be partial because I have the 180 ones.

OSS just got a hold of new V4 rings which no longer have the beaded effect they are solid lighting and are BRIGHT, I think its $250 more for the new rings and only 2 OSS cars currently have them so your best bet is to contact OSS for the pictures. Hope this helps!

There is a gap, but it doesn't show up because of the brightness in real life unless you get close to it... I'm just wondering if that gap HAS to be there or if there are alternatives without it.... Right now I'm between ACM and LightModz even though both have that gap

The OSS headlights have a gap in person. I look at them everyday and it's there. It's where the wires connect.

The V4 headlights are out now, I have the V2's. I don't plan on upgrading because the only difference is that it's mostly a solid ring, but I perfer the beaded look. It's classy.

I prefer the beaded look too, but wish there was a way to make it with no gap.. Is it really that much of a challenge?

Ok I'm confused if your talking about the gap at the top of the outside halo? If you are then re-read the OSS thread it clearly says that they keep the gap to keep OEM aggressiveness, but if you prefer they can put in a complete circle

I believe the OP is talking about this (OP, correct?)

Exactly.

to make it clear, i like the open outer ring because it does look more aggressive than the "scared-looking" full outer ring.

my issue is with the inner (smaller) ring. The missing LED at the top of the inner smaller ring looks annoying and incomplete. i am curious as to why there are no alternatives. i do realize that the LED's are probably bright enough to mask the gap in almost all situations but i'm crazy with small details on my car. i'm curious if there are alternatives.

also, i researched the V4 rings mentioned previously. they are pretty much the same as the v2, with twice as many LED's. This creates a full ring look rather than the beaded look we are all used to from OSS. Yet, there is still that gap. i'm starting to think there is no alternative but to live with it. the plus side is that with the v4, the angel eyes are so bright that the gap is even less visible. but as you can see, the gap is still there:

I actually feel like it's more visible on the V4's because of having less of a gap between LED's. Both of these LED systems are designed by Umnitza, so it's possible other manufactures don't have this issue. LS3 is a system worth looking into as well.
