Anyone have the breakout on their battery replacement?

I asked for mine back and so I had to pay a $15 core charge. It was $294.99. I suppose without the registration part that's one total rip-off, but I was ok with it as I've seen higher here. The replacement was an Exide which was one digit off from the original. I think my old one has some life left in it, which is why I wanted it back. But I'll take it over to the wife's uncle's shop and test it. Watch it be spent and I wasted that $15 core charge LOL!

How much life did you get out of your old battery?

My battery started acting up at 4 years, it acted up when it was cold earlier this year. No need to push it to the very end so 5 years.

I dunno when I bought a Sears DieHard and the car wasn't with me, I was charged a core charge that was to be returned when I brought the old battery back. State law I guess.

So judging by the $294.99 total, battery $199.99, and the $15 core, labor was $80? I tell you, the reason I ask is that trying to figure out how much BMW charges for things is like trying to figure out how much Ray Bans cost when you have vision insurance. No joke, the cash price is one thing, the insurance price is another. I'm just wondering how one person can say the battery replacement was $200, and another $500. Where is the variance??

I think it's just some dealerships are professional stealerships and some are novice stealerships. The novice ones don't know what they can get away with.
