Oh no, I've been found out. . . 323, auto, low self-esteem, will cut wrists without daily 'nice car' compliments.

Oh my god, you geniuses figuring this all out?

Do you guys all have degrees in psychology? Wow just amazing *clap, clap*

Clearly smart enough to decipher that a question about whether or not you get compliments about your car stems from having low self-esteem and it is necessary for our survival.

One word, GENIUS!

Carry on now troll

Really ? Times r changing I guess.

I lived in that area prior to moving to west GTA 4 years ago , and spent lots of time on the patios in Yorkville, drinking waaaaay too much.. There would be many exotics, and a Cadillac would not even be noticed... Four Seasons Hotel would always have some lambos , Bentleys and RR's....

Wait... a stock 3-series is driving pleasure huhhh? I personally think they drive like shit... stock infiniti's post better lap times so it's not really a driving pleasure... it's just a good base platform that has a lot of potential.

It's comments like "automatic 323i" that make BMW drivers look like assholes because we have a superiority complex because we drive a higher model 3-series or a BMW in general... at the end of the day its a 3-series... and in my neighbourhood every middle aged women drives one so I definitely don't feel superior.

I do put my time and effort into making my car look nice and a compliment or gesture from another enthusiast is always welcome and appreciated.

Obviously we don't have rivers of exotics like Ontario apparently does, ~97% of people around here either drive:

1) Pickup truck
2) Old rusty heap from the 80s
3) Rice
4) Domestic econobox

To most people in Calgary, a car is an appliance, and they don't give a crap about it's appearance (just look how many PT Cruisers there are if you need proof!). I get excited when I see a clean car driving around; no matter what it is, because they are so few and far between.

It's also nice to get a compliment when driving a humble 3-series. I worked hard for my car, and I will enjoy whatever I can about it .. !

We might have been in the same patios getting drunk then lol. I have been around Yorkville for at least 10-12 years now.

It's always been a norm in North America with the Cadillac because they seem to think they need to support North American (American) Auto Makers, if they are not supporting domestic automakers it looks bad for them business wise. The big shots have always been driving in them keeping low. Especially American millionaires / billionaires...they will always have a Cadillac in the garage.

Of course Yorkville is riddled with porches, and a good mix of Ferrari's. Maserati's, and lambos. And every so often you see the Bentleys, RR's etc. But the guys that have been keeping the millions for generations, take a look at their cars, usually its a Cadillac for every day affairs and meetings.

The firm I work for (Architecture) has some high profile clients in the Bridle Path. The wives drive the Escalade with the kids, and the father usually has a CTS for daily business, often with a driver.

Not to say they don't have a garage with nice toys as well.....but the guys in Yorkville flaunting their expensive cars don't have a garage full of them, its usually their only sport car...and they love the attention. Different type of rich people, in a completely different " wealth bracket".

Really? You mean enthusiasts that give a lot of time and effort in a project (regardless if its a car, house, company portfolio, etc) can't enjoy a compliment here and there? And if they do, it's because they have low self esteem?

Who the fuck you kidding? Yeah, I bet you cringe at the thought of someone giving you a compliment.....

Yes.
Every day pretty much.

I live in Ottawa like BDMBimmer not LA North, I mean Toronto.

The best is people walking around the car in parking lots and you catch them looking as you walk back to the car and load your toddler in to the child seat.

Gas stations, which I'm at a lot, is another place people seem to feel very open to striking up a conversation.

Have fun.

My is 100% stock so I definitely don't expect any compliments, but twice I've had other BMW drivers compliment my car at gas stations. Once it was an older guy in an E60 5 series and another time it was a guy in an E36 3 series that incidently was in great shape for its age.
