Sorry to read about your dealings. I actually had to help a member fix his as well, same exact problem. Wiring AiB uses is way too thin. In any case, I manually soldered the connection (since this person was okay with it) to make it work. Kind of surprised that a $300 kit has such crappy parts. Heat sink is solid though. |

I bought Angel Eyes also, so this is not just a tell tale:
Warn you all from my personal experience,I would avoid buying even a chewing gum from Xenon Planet, not a part, or a HID.Cheating, shady, arrogant lying company, with the cheapest quality chinese products on sale.I have all emails, and payment details to prove this all. They will delay handling all your complaint so finally you run out of paypal claim deadline.Save yourself a headache, and contact me for details. Oh, they are registered in Estonia,no phone number, no address.Scammers. |

Lux 5.1 on LCI ZKW Brand Halogen Headlights
Everyone will say this will not fit the LCI halogen lights. But they are 50% wrong.
2 companies provides LCI halogen headlights for the E90 4 Door. One is Valeo, and the other is ZKW. If you have the ZKW lights, you can use the LUX 5.1 since the bulbs it replaces has the same part number (63117161444) as the Xenon headlights. Since the Valeo headlight has a different bulb number, I don't know if it will fit. So if anyone is interested, make sure you have ZKW brand headlights. They were 100% plug and play. No wire splicing. Here are some pics: I love how even it is spread between the rings. Like many have reported, it's OK visible under full sunlight. In gloomy weather and dawn/dusk, it's fully visible and quite bright. Perhaps one day, I'll have a chance to compare it to a factory white AE. I'll get some pics if I do and post back here. But these look really nice. As for error codes, I drove back from the shop and there were no errors as promised by LuxAngelEyes. However, because of the bulb check, every time I start the car, it would flash the LED's so I disabled the bulb checks for the AE. EDIT ADD: I've had some people requesting pics of my ZKW lights. Here are some crappy iPhone pics: This is my label from the top. The blurry writing in the red circle says ZKW. The passenger headlight. Red circle is where the AE lights go. Same as above but for the driver side EDIT ADD again: I just notice this pic I took while they were doing the install: It looks like the bulb cover has the ZKW label as well (circled in red). And yes, we had to use electrical tape to insulate the wires before closing up. Hope that helps! P.S. I've also fixed my grammar/spelling in my original post. I was just too excited. Rock on people! I found a pic of the back of the Valeo unit:
There are metal clips holding the covers where as the ZKW one do not. The AE replacement bulb number for the Valeo is: 63112179077. I can't find pics of this anywhere so I really don't know if the Lux 5.1 will fit the Valeo headlights. This doesn't look like it has the same AE bulb holder as well. Here's a better pic I found of the back of the ZKW for comparison: As you can see, it clearly has the same AE bulb holder as the Pre-LCI Xenon headlights, and the replacement AE bulb numbers match as well. |

Looks like I need to update some of my images. Thanks, Imageshack. :P
I'm going to go through this thread again, make sure I'm not missing any major offerings (or minor ones), and make sure that I'm representing each manufacturer equally.

greetings
here we go standing in front of car start with the left headlight ...you have a little more room to get the "feel" for it - twist the cover on the back of the headlight clockwise (you are facing the engine compartment) - very gently remove the electric connector of your oem h8 bulb by using a very little screwdriver or plastic trim tool to release the "greyish" safety clips (be careful - don't break them) - the back of your oem h8 bulb is shaped like a "L" ... you will feel the back of the bulb pointing up and towards the outside of the engine bay (fender) - twist the oem bulb (again you are standing in front of the vehicle facing the engine) clockwise (towards the right "driver-side" headlight) - lay the bulb down on a towel EXACTLY IN THE POSITION you took it out => as reference when you install the LUXH8 => referring to the lineup of the little notches in the bulb holder inside the headlight - using a little screwdriver (an automotive mirror or any small mirror and a bright flashlight will come in handy at this point) push the little rubber grommet out of the way .. refer to this link http://luxangeleyes.com/guides/LUX_H...ll_E90_LCI.pdf - install/insert holding the LUXH8 in the exact same way you removed the oem h8 bulb ... here comes the PITA part ... it will require a substantial amount of "finegeling" to get the LUXH8 inserted just right and it will take a lot of cussing to twist into place ... you will have to twist the bulb counter clock wise (towards the fender) ... use your index finger and thumb and become hulk for about 2 seconds to twist and "shout" - reconnect the electrical connectors and with care insert the little black box ... i suggest you place them inside the headlight housing towards (position) the opposite headlight (more room due to the interior routing of the "glass" tubes for the ae-rings) - close headlight by twisting the cover counter clock wise (towards the fender) ... now the driver side .... what a pain in the @@@ ... less room to work with ... but no worries ... the after math is worth it ... general rule: removing the oem bulbs: twist towards the grille - installing: twist towards the fender if you need help .. pm me i will give you my number to call (east coat) have fun

I can't force people to provide pics, or to respond to my requests, so my hands are tied in that respect. The only other edit I can do is to reupload the OSS pic that seems to now be missing.

Will the Lux v3 H8 Angel Eyes work with adaptive headlights? I have an 2010 LCI E90 with xenon AHLs. www.realoem.com suggests that the angel eyes for the adaptive headlights on my car take an H3 bulb but perhaps I am misinterpreting something. Just want to be sure I don't either foul up my AHLs or throw codes if I install these. Thanks.
