Pure turbo order list help
Currently I am running JB4 stage 2, AR DP, AA CP, ETS 7" ready to go in, BMS intake. COBB is on the list also fuel pump so I can run higher E85. I am not intend to run meth.
Do I need to order install kit? Upgrade valve? I know inlet pipe some like some don't. Still haven't found any legit log regarding gain or not on the inlet pipe. I won't need to go stage 2 being DCT. Anyone can help me with the list i need to order? Thanks in advance Last edited by Everfly; 02-10-2015 at 08:37 PM.. |

Are you going Pure Stg1? What do you mean Install kit and Upgrade valve? I run Pure Stg1 with JB4, inline 255, BMS DP, CP-E CP, VRSF 7" and 50-60% E85 no meth and everything works well. DCT starts to slip around 19psi target in map6 but I have a Cobb AP in the works, so backend flash will hopefully take care of that.

Yes I will go with Pure stage 1
Do I really need all these? Installation kit http://performance.vargasturbo.com/bmw-products/ Upgrade forge DV http://performance.vargasturbo.com/bmw-products/ Or I can reuse some of the hardware but will need to buy O-rings only? And I will ok with stock DV? |

If you're only doing stage 1, you aren't pulling the entire turbo manifold from the head, so the install kit is not necessary. I've considered the forge DV upgrade but doesn't really seem necessary at Stg1 power levels. I've never had any issues with the stock DV.

Yep. Replace the o-rings for coolant and oil pipes. May as well do the DV while you're in there.. it's a real pain to get to later on.

I replaced three of these for coolant: 11-53-7-590-575
Two of these: 11-42-7-590-576, and two of these: 11-42-7-590-577 for oil supply/drain.

No prob. Not sure what you're planning for inline pump but I recommend this one from Fuel-it..

I had Pure stage 1 and inlet pipe installed today and my mechanic was mad it didn't come with an install kit. There was a lot of confusion about which parts were needed and the part number for one of the o-rings supplied by Pure was not correct; they had to run down to the BMW dealer to get some different o-rings. Plus they had to remove a lot of stuff in order to do the install, and thought that some other o-rings not recommended by Pure should have been included. After the install there was a coolant leak, turned out it was from an o-ring on a hose to the thermostat, which they removed to get to the turbo during the install, but not one of the o-rings that Pure recommended replacing. By the time it sprung a leak the BMW dealer was closed, so I had to rent a car at the airport, will pick up my car tomorrow. I'm new to all this turbo stuff but my indy said that turbo upgrades from other manufactures usually include an install kit with all the seals needed, and thought Pure should do the same.

They didn't need to remove that coolant line, I didn't. Not Pure's fault. I also bet if they would have lubricated the O-rings that they wouldn't have had to replace any. I didn't replace any O-rings on mine, but the water pump was replaced shortly before that. I just lubed them a little before reinstall and they went back together fine.

To be clear, I'm not mad at Pure, Jesse has been great. I'm not a DIYer though, and just sharing what my mechanic said. Can't wait to pick up my car today!
