I also have the Ipod holder, with March production. The problem is that it is to small to hold my 30GB in it's leather case. I may be parking my IPOD there 85% of the time so that is probably OK.

In the 20 previous pages of this post, did anyone discuss how to move to the bottom of the alphabet faster when searching through artist or album? THAT would be awesome.

MIKEHUNTSKI - was it attached to the underside of the lid or something? Where did you find it? I didn't get one.

I'd be interested to hear if it is useful. How well does the cable fit if you use the holder? Does it give you more room in the console?

Is there a part number for it, and can it be purchased? I don't understand why some get it and some don't... are they just trying to annoy customers? Because I basically teeter over that ledge all the time anyway!

I don't think you can. It's too bad you can't scroll "up" from the first item and have it wrap to the bottom.

Picked up my March build 335i sport/premium/6FL/Nav/etc. yesterday (4/23). No iPod holder. It's a great idea, though, so I'll be looking for a way to attach mine to the lid.

Oh yeah...no iPod cable on delivery, either. That's OK, gives me time to learn how to work the other stuff.

I just looked under the armrest and there it was. Here are some before and after pics. The holder really helps free up some space and clutter.

No part number. It is glued? Def not velcro. I pulled on it a bit but I don't want to rip it off. (The ipod holder I am talking about.)

on a seperate note (not sure if this was covered) most of my songs do not show up via iDrive? when playing through my playlists everything loads, but if i select an artist or genre mostly all the songs are missing that are on my iPod? i have reset the iPod, re-connected 6FL no luck?

has anyone else had this problem?

They should all be there. They all show in the iPod right? Not just in iTunes? My first thought was that not all songs were synch'ed... how about format? Is there anything the missing songs have in common?

I have a question for you...
We all know that the 6FL will not play mp3s with a bit rate exceeding 256 kbps. Say, now, that in a certain playlist of your ipod there co-exist mp3s of both lower and higher than 256 kbps. What will happen then? Will the i-drive screen/radio-cd display list only the mp3s that are lower than 256 kbps and omit the others or will it not list that particular playlist at all?
Just some food for thought!

Good point... and this could be the reason for some songs missing from the list.

Anyone experiencing the following scenario when using a USB flash drive or other device? (Non I-drive)

While playing an mp3 the system freezes and none of the buttons are responsive....the system eventually comes around and the USB shows up as "empty".

I have to unplug the flash drive and reselect USB to restore service.

Here's the thing though: when you use the actual 6FL cable and an iPod, it's the iPod that's actually decoding the audio files and sending the analog audio to the head unit. There should be no bitrate issues then; if the iPod can play the track, then it should show up in the display.

Are you talking about using the iPod in "Mass Storage Mode?"

Reading the owners manual. On Page 179 (in the USB/audio interface section) it says: "Depending on your vehicle's equipment version, it may contain a storage pouch for your audio device. The pouch is located under the center armrest."

No other details.

No, I haven't ran across that issue.

-What kind of folder structure do you have?

-Are all your files the same bitrate?

-Are your IDTags good?

-Is your USB flash device in good working order?

-Try formatting USB device to FAT32 and give it a LABEL
