MyCarr ICE Angel Eyes Replacement

Does anyone have any experience with the MyCarr ICE Angel Eyes. Getting ready to pull the trigger and just checking to see if folks are happy with brightness, color, etc. Thanks.

one freebie for you

Sticky: LED Angel Eyes Specs on PIAA, Beloff, LUX, DD, DASH, Brex, MyCarr, Ice, Suntex, etc.

after this one, it'll cost you (in the form of public derision) if you post questions that can be easily answered via a quick search.

Sadly, I made the mistake of trusting cgc335i before looking at his posting pattern. He's the "post and dash" type, i.e. posts a thread and then never returns to interact in his OWN thread. Basically a guy that is too lazy to search and wants the answer to his question right away without contributing anything to the community. He has 9 posts so far, and 6 of those are thread starters.

Maybe we should teach him how to enable instant email notifications, it's possible he forgets about the threads?

Thanks

To those folks who have responded to the thread and who sent private messages. I pulled the trigger on the Lux 5.0. When mods are done, I'll be posting pics.

I've had the Mycarr ICE for about 10 months now. The right side has gone out on me about 6 months ago and I got a free replacement after sending the old one back. It went out again yesterday. Actually, there is a very small amount of light coming from it, which makes me think that one of the LED's has gone bad or something else has happend that affects the power to the LED. It's really a hassle that is not worth the time every so often and I had expected to install them and not ever worry about them again. I'm thinking about replacing them with LUX 5.0 soon, but I would keep them if they worked and were reliable.

I had MyCarr LEDs b4, maybe a month ago. after 2 weeks the right side went dim and died. I didn't bother asking for a replacement anymore since I was disappointed, and I just got myself a set of PIAAs instead, which was what I had b4 the MyCarr, at least these I know will last for a long time

PIAA's are also another viable option in place of RD's

I'm going to buy the LUX soon too. The MyCarr ICE are nice looking when they work, but they've proved to be very unreliable and although the warranty is excellent and customer service at JLeviSW is the best, I can't be taking the time to remove the malfunctioning units all the time while waiting for replacements. I wonder if they'll give me a full refund at this point? Maybe I could put that toward the extra cost of LUX 5.0? (about $199) I would also get the "Vista DRL harness" or the one from JLeviSW called the "DAEOS" Daytime Angel Eye Operation System (for about $80)

I agrre with Blue Streak. Jlevi has good customer service about this product but the product itself has issues.

Ive also had to replace MyCarr Angel eyes after less than a year, and now will have to replace the 2nd set as well. The 1st set showed the typical signs of overdriving an LED. Also the blade on the drivers side PCB connecting the common leg from the vehicle broke off.
