Unlimited Launch Control
Hi All,
Deciding on which way I will be going on selection of tune, a question i have - which will definitely help in making a decision is: Which tune will give me unlimited ability in using launch control? I already have launch control as a standard option, but the problem is you can only use it once every 10 mins or something like that, which is extremely annoying! Any advice appreciated. |

why would you want this though?
they limit it, so that you don't completely lunch your gearbox and transmission. If you start launching it constantly, you'll kill your gearbox/clutch/prop in no time |

I won't be using it back to back all the time. But for the moments where you want them...
E.G. traffic light to traffic light, Drags, etc... |

You can use LC as much as you want until the trans reaches a certain temp, then as a safety precaution the DME active LC. NO tune would over ride this safety feature because it would then make them liable if you used LC in unsafe conditions & destroyed the trans
BTW -- The DME saves everytime you use LC, so if the car is leased you might want to take it easy & not launch the car at every stop light |

If it's a leased car, it's basically getting borrowed & will be returned to the dealer at the end of the lease agreement. If they see on the DME that you're launch controlling the car every chance you get, they could (if they want, it's the dealer's car technically) open up the trans + force you to replace the "excessively worn" clutch plate = $$$$$$$

Besides the point, it's a leased car -- If they find something broken or a part that needs to be replaced, if it's not under warranty you're gonna be paying for it. **Same idea as if the car was an MT and you burnt out the clutch launching it, BMW isn't going to pay for the repairs If the car was bought, they wouldn't give 2 shits about how many times you use LC because if anything breaks, it's up to you to decide whether or not to fix + pay for it |

OP wants to override the built-in safety feature on the DTC that limits how many times you can use LC
**EDIT -- OP, you're in the wrong forum b/c the only cars with LC are the one's w/ the DCT. So you got the E9x M3, 335is + 135is. And you don't list any of those |

I have never heard if you lease a car that you can't drive it hard... It's a performance car meant to be pushed, some people will abuse it more than others and I have leased cars before where something went seriously wrong and they just either fixed it or replaced it... And yes, I was abusing the shit out of the car.

Replacement DCT is ~$7k for just parts -- Not sure the dealer is gonna write that expense off

You can't clear the codes generated by the Launch Control. And even if you could, they'll notice something is wrong the second they drive the car & notice the shifts are really sluggish, which will be confirmed when then open up the DCT and see the clutch plate is fried

umm im not sure about this. There was a guy who dyno'd his car and down the road something bad happened to his motor requiring major work and the dealer rejected warranty because they found out it went over 175 mph. (Which was over the governor.) The all so debated BMW "Black Box"
