Why does BMW have to use NYK for west coast? WW also ships to Port Hueneme from Bremerhaven. My car is done and waiting at the port for a ship, but according to the german website, there's no NYK boat coming until 1/24! :mad: Meanwhile, WW has two ships leaving to PH, one on the 10th and another on the 20th.

When I got my M3 in 2002, it came on WW. It's amazing how much info WW has available and how little info, and poor customer service NYK has.

Sorry, just a little rant to blow off some steam. You east coast peeps are lucky.

on the plus side of the NYKLine ships - their ships are brand spankin' new (most i've seen were christened ~2004) and appear to have VERY good auto RoRo holds. this makes our chances of getting a vehicle w/o any bumps or bruises that much better.

but the tracking for them sucks big time!

Don't worry. There almost certainly will be K-line ships departing Bremerhaven during the next two weeks that don't show up on that schedule.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what you see on the port schedules. I never saw my ship's name listed on any of those schedules either. You're going to have to rely on your CA to tell you what ship you're on.

I thought my car would be on NYK lines for west coast delivery, but I checked WW's site today and entered my VIN, and my car has already set sail aboard Maersk Tide, which claims to have left on 1/6. The 800 number and the OC still say that it's sitting at the port waiting for a vessel.

I checked the booking number and there are 600 BMW's on it. My car was a week 51 car.

Glad to hear west coast people are getting on WW ships! Just checked mine - nothing yet, but since it seems that week 51 builds are only shipping now, I'm probably still a week or so away.

Oh well - guess that means more time to watch the BMW production video over and over again. I wish I could understand german....

where did you get you tracking info from? and which option do you choose in order to be able to track by the VIN. I think you are on WW and mine is on NYK

If you're lucky, they report in to sailwx.info and you can see it there. Otherwise, you gotta wait until she gets close to the coast to see her on aislive.com.

Happily BMW does use WW for Port Hueneme cars as well as NYK, my car made the TORTUGAS a brand new vessel and it left on Feb9 to arrive Port Hueneme March 3. Not bad when you consider my order wasn't placed until 25 Jan.
