you should definitely make sure he is stock. All he needs is some form of reflash, and then i don't think you stand a chance. But if he is 100% stock, he'll take you off the line for sure, but it should make for a fun race.

Im sorry forgot to mention that my car is steptronic with paddles.Also it would not be from a roll,because its at the track.And yes he has the 2008 evo. Its definitly stock,I drove it and im sure my beast will smoke it. so when this happens i will post the results.

sounds like he's going to a drag strip so a roll is out of the question. But you should def be able to EASILY catch up with him before the 1/4 is up. Just be sure you trust him that the car is actually bone stock.

Speaking of racing Evo's, actually this isn't too relative (not even a Mitsu), but today I raced a bug-eyed black STi. The guy was glued to my bumper and definitely was a bit faster in the long run. I was surprised, by the time I hit 120 he was goin prob 130 or so and I was just like "Okay, you win". Gave a smile and signaled for him to lead the way. I could tell he was modded.

I need a goddamn V2. Or a JB2. Or a Dinan reflash. Or a SSTT. Damn.

But I thought the old Evo IX was always slower than the new Evo X?
Hmm.. But either way the OP needs to be careful, if that guy has the new Vishnu tuned Evo X chip, then he might see himself in some trouble.

fill your tank only 1/4, so you save some weight..
and make sure the evo is completely stock, you never know if he has tuned ECU..

I owned one and I have a 335xi coupe we did two 40mph roll ons then one dead stop I had no trouble im assuming he was stock as was I dont think either of us had more than 1k on the cars he had out of state temp tags both are respectable rides I would deff take that 500 cash and buys all the drinks that night

Some mag did a comparo a few weeks ago between the new sti, evo x and 335xi and the 335xi beat both in a straight line. I would imagine that in a 1/4 mile your turbo tuner would probably more than make up for the solid launch of the xi
