ar design - how many of you guys are interested in a lightweight battery kit?
As the title states, how many guys would be interested in us producing a lightweight battery kit? I've been running a prototype in my car for about 3 weeks, and so far have had absolutely no issues. Would include a 21lb battery (as opposed to the what, 50lb OEM?) and the mounting system......
Feedback please!

lightening up the rear right side sounds good as long as the front left side is also lightened by the same amount in order to achieve the 50 to 50 weight distribution....is that possible?

The lightweight battery is the best and easiest place to save weight!

I was able to mount my Odyssey 21lb battery without a custom kit... just using standard battery mount parts and cables from Pep Boys . I've been running it for over a year without any issues.

I can supply a 7lb battery, but you'll need to put it on a maintainer every night.

Like I said, we can even get down to a 7lb battery - but for a daily driver, especially in cold climates, the 21lb battery is ideal.

The loss of 30lb of weight will more than likely improve performance all around than cause any issues with handling and balance of the car.

I started off with transfering my odyssey 15 lb battery that I used for my M3 over to the 335 and it was enough to start the car but things weren't working like my AC. The AC was working but I only had 1 fan speed. Depending on the make of the battery, a 21 battery is perfect of our cars. If you have very minimum of options then you can go with a 17 pounder and be fine.
