335i Muffler tips

Hi guys i left my car at a muffler shop to install Dimisa tips today. When I came back he had it installed already and i noticed that he cut the flapper part also. So the whole valve thing or whatever is gone now . Is this a problem?

Make sure you plug off the vacuum line.

I don't think its a big deal since having the entire exhaust replaced would remove this anyway.

Mechaninically it is not a problem but when on the highway you will drone like crazy.

If that doesnt bother you then its ok

If he has OEM exhaust it wont drone like crazy... The flaps open once the cats are warm even when they are on and plugged in... If you wanna hear drone drive in a Muffler delete

This^

Once up to temperature, they dont make a difference. It just stops the car from being so bassy/loud on cold starts.

Mine is a roaring monster when I start it at 5am on a cold morning, but it's back to normal by the time I get on the highway 5 minutes later

Guys one more thing. My car is sparkling graphite and I got an OEM aero trunk spoiler in the same color but Im wondering if i should paint it black because my muffler tips are black and im powdercoating my rims next week to black.

Mine drones like crazy on highway. This is automatic, which makes it even worse as the car tries to stay as low in the revs as possible. Flaps seem to open based on throttle, even when the car is warm already.

The car should open the flap once it is warm. Yes it will be much louder on cold starts, but that is true with EVERY car, even a prius... Personally, I like the loud sound. I unplugged my actuator in my trunk so it always stays open. Long term I want a BMW PE. But for now this satisfies. If you want a quieter exhaust, I dont know how to help you except to get a 328.
