My main gripe before was the lumpy throttle response and unpredictable throttle with the car feeling like it was breathing through a blocked nose is how I'd describe it. This is now linear and predictable making manual gear changes much smoother. The car now pulls like a train again

Will took time to tell me how it's done and showing me the pictures of before and after. Glad I did it, he said after doing ten 335i's mine was the worse one.

Can recommend TWG!

Top stuff, glad it's made a difference for you!

Far as I know BG44K is a fuel additive, so it will do absolutely nothing for bulid-up on the backs of valves, since we are talking about DIRECT injection engines, in which the fuel never gets near the valves..!

Thanks for the write up, how many miles has your car done? How long did it take? What fuel do you typically use?

Personally it was worth every penny as it's made my enjoyment of the car get back to how it should be. The engine feels more effortless and revs more freely. The engine sounds subtly different too, it purrs now. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true. I have a remap so not sure if that accentuated the issues beforehand. Car has 49k miles with a GIAC remap from 39k. I'll post the before and after pics when hopefully Will sends them to me.

49k, bought it at 27k, but evidently the sluggishness got worse. I always use Shell v-max. I tried the Tesco momentum 99 a couple of times but the car didn't seem to like it. Tended to hesitate. I dropped car off at 8:30 and picked up at 17:45 not sure how long it actually took but photos Will showed me were between 11 am and about 3pm I think..

Thanks for the update Matthew.

I'm interested in the symptoms you describe as that sounds like what mine is doing, but only when cold - was yours doing it the whole time or just when warming up?

Its was worse when cold, but still there when warm but not as pronounced. It was only very subtle. TBH the idle didn't bother me, it was the sluggish throttle pickup and unpredictable throttle and reduced power that annoyed me.

Your buildup didn't look that bad. But still must have been an improvement having it done.

Now you just have to run meth to keep the carbon at bay

Yeah I have seen worse on other forums but still isn't good. Charge was 280 quid. Not sure an oil catch can would catch everything. A certain amount of oil comes through from the turbos however small.
