if you wash something with a harsh chemical based agent that shouldnt be washed with it.......... bad things are gonna happen.
use soap and water and your gold! Painted / cleared wheels are no dif than the side of your car..... you gonna wash your car with simple green? No, so why wash your wheels with it? Sorry op tough lesson learned, I hope it all gets sorted out for you.

Sorry to the OP about your issue. Seriously tho, I can not understand people that use wheel cleaner or any other cleaning products on your wheels. If you wash your wheels on a weekly basis, you will be able to remove brake dust with the same soap/water solution that you use to wash the rest of the car.
Why take shortcuts with a cleaner product? Laziness.... I'd rather spend more time cleaning my wheels than to use a product that potentially screw up my finish. Just my $.02 Best of luck

i wash my car once maybe twice a week if it is really bad and never have issues. better yet, get ceramic brakes and forget about dust all together! I got Hawks and they are amazing, have cut my brake dust to virtually none!

It is incumbant upon the manufacturer and or the distributer to properly inform the consumer in writing regarding the care and use of the product purchased. According to your previous statement, neither of them provided you with care instructions. As a result, you unknowingly used a product to clean your wheels that was not safe to use on this particular wheel. Had the manufacturer and or distributer provided you with the care/use instructions your wheels would not be damaged. That is your case...

I dont know if I'M not emphizing this enough or not.. probably not) but I DID NOT USE Simple Green regularly, (ONLY 2 times on these wheels) it was only in contact for less than 30 seconds.. this cleaner is NOT the problem here.. are these wheels even Aluminum?? If I had not even mentioned SG, the retailer/ maker would have said that whatever I used would have caused the problem (true or not) and told me that "its not recommended for use on "these" wheels... maybe thats why thy have no care instructions on either web page?? (its an OUT for warranty claims? Hmmmm

Now if you want to be a know-it-all and not listen to what people have to say that's fine. Otherwise, put a cork in it and listen, because maybe, just maybe someone else on here may know a little bit about this kind of thing. |

I don't think it was the simple green that made them flake. I have had a total of 10 rims from miro. My first two sets, over 3 years ago, was solid. When I cracked two of them this last year, I ordered new ones. They started to flake about 3 months into having them. Now anyone that knows me, knows how I take care of my wheels. I am completley anal about cleaning them. I seal them twice with jetseal over 48 hours before they ever hit the ground. Soap and water ONLY for me. I am not sure if they are making them cheaper or what but the newer ones sux. Sorry to hear about what happened. I guess my point is that it was not the simple green, IMO, that caused this to happen.

I know the subject of discussion is not VMR related so try to see this as assistance from one enthusiast (with wheel experience) to another. Did these paint flakes appear immediately after the simple green is rinsed off or did they appear slowly during the time you owned the wheels.
Just being the devil' advocate here, chips like that can also be caused by large rocks impacting the spoke at high speed or a paint related issue... so you'd want to add those as the possibilities. We all know dishwashing soap isn't good to clean cars with (although I've heard of detailers using it to clean off ALL wax prior to a comprehensive detail of the car). Simple Green isn't on the top of my list of solvents that I'd want to spray my car (or a wheel) with, but at the same time its probably not something that will ruin the paint on contact or after two uses. Either way, hopefully You, Miro and **********s will come to a amicable solution soon. |

get what you pay for. Miro wheels are pretty bad quality IMO.
If my wheels were flaking after 7 months, I would be pretty pissed off too. I doubt simple green was the problem of your wheels, I think it's because Miro in general are pretty shit. |

I guess you never know what you'll get with miro's. Ive seen so many threads about the quality and the finish but my experience is completely different. I dont think the finish is great but Im not having any issues other than some minor chipping which IMO is acceptable. I only use soap and water and the have a couple coats of wheel wax on them. They seem to be holding up pretty good over the last 8 months. They have seen quite a few potholes and road construction abuse and they have held up fine. Im selling my set and Ill post pics soon and you'll see they still look gorgeous. I think the op is another member who got a shitty set. The clear coats thin but atleast they are very inexpensive. I have to sell them for dirt cheap because thats what they were to begin with. My final tip is I think only lukewarm water and car soap should be used on any wheels.

I hope the OP can get this resolved. I think someone needs to step up to the plate and take care of this situation instead of ignoring it. I hate bad customer service. I am reminded again why I buy mods from only two companies. Good luck OP, hope it works out for you. For the record, again, it is not the simple green that caused this. That is a sorry excuse

I have to agree with Morpheus; I'd want a refund. After reading many reviews on various forums, I'm leery about anything from Miro. There are plenty of options out there at the same price point that seem to have much better QC.
Many companies have built very solid reputations by standing behind their products. IMHO, Simple Green or not, Miro should step up or face a steep decline in sales. OP, I'd be surprised if you didn't get hit with some type of cease and desist. This sounds like the kind of company that would do it. |
