Rotor Upgrade???

Besides looking much cooler, how much better performance does a drilled and slotted stoptech rotor give you over standard OEM?? Is the stopping power noticeably stronger? Less fade ....

Also, is it mandatory to swap the pads out? I understand upgrading will improve braking, I was just curious whether I had to being that the current ones are failry new and that i want to keep cost down.

Your insight is appreciated.

My brakes are starting to go bad as well. I'm very curious if the drilled and slotted ones are any good.

I don't need brakes yet but am curious as well.

From the little bit of reading I've done on the subject, seems like slotted rotors are the way to go. Apparently the drilled ones crack and are mostly for show.

I would like to know if you will see improved performance from good rotors and pads alone or do you need to get calipers also.

Most people go with slotted rotors, upgraded pads, ss brake lines, and better fluid. If you are going to track the car frequently to justify the upgraded brakes, I would suggest Racing Brake's floating 2-peice rotors. BBK's are for heavy track users or ballers

If slotted are the way to go, why do most brembo rotors and high performance cars only have drilled?

Slotted is the way to go.

Drilled ones are cool and can use light to medium street use. If you get them too hot a few times, they will start to crack around the holes.

you used to have adams rotors on your 3 right? how were they. I'm debating between them and R1 concepts

Lol then why do vendors sell the drilled ones including you guys.

Kind of messed up don't you think?

I'm currently looking at a set from bimmian.com - great pricing!

Now I'm not sure if I should get drilled/slotted or just slotted...
Thx guys!!!! :S
